Nintendo may still be gearing up its mysterious new NX console, but that doesn't mean all plans for new games before then have fallen by the wayside. In fact, creative powerhouse Shigeru Miyamoto has confirmed that a few big franchises could be returning sooner than we think.
Chiefly, a fourth instalment in Miyamoto's charming strategy series Pikmin is not just underway, but "very close to completion". The series, which sees a shipwrecked space explorer guide tiny plant creatures to repair his ship, has long been a pet project for the developer, famously said to be inspired by his own love for gardening.
