Why 'Electricomics' is more than just comics on tablets

Electricomics is trying to redefine what comics can be in the age of the tablet. Launched earlier this month on iPad, the innovative project allows creators to use technology beyond the humble pencil to absorb readers into their worlds.

Shepherded by comics writer Leah Moore, the anthology title sees a global who's who of comic book creators -- including her father Alan Moore, and husband and regular co-writer John Reppion -- experimenting to find new ways to tell stories that come alive off the printed page.

In the first of a series of interviews, WIRED.co.uk speaks with Leah Moore to discuss exactly how Electricomics differ from traditional ones, the unexpected challenges of bringing the project to life, and the unique eccentricities that define the British comics scene.
