Mapping the Syrian refugee crisis across Europe: in pictures


The Syrian Civil War has been pushing citizens out of their homes for the last three and a half years, but the internal turmoil caused by shifting borders between different factions since March 2014 has been particularly tumultuous. 

The UN undersecretary estimated in August 2015 that 250,000 civilian deaths have been caused by the conflict. It's unsurprising then that many Syrians have fled the country. The crisis is epic in size, spilling over into every country in Europe. One way to attempt to comprehend it is to look at it through the lens of cartography.
