Fallout 4 review, day four: Pip pip, Pip-Boy



It's rare for an in-game piece of paraphernalia to become as important to players as Fallout's Pip-Boy. The wrist-mounted accessory has appeared, in various iterations, in every game in the series, and serves as a canonical explanation for the menu screens you as a player will navigate.

The gadget has taken on a life of its own though, its popularity with fans leading Bethesda to not only make it the subject of Fallout 4's collector's edition (which in turn inspired 3D-printed replicas), but spin it off to its own distinct app. Available for Android and iOS smartphones, it syncs to your format of choice over your home network, and serves as a real world, ever present connection to the game.
