Nintendo's smartphone games may feature microtransactions after all

Japanese mobile giant DeNA has revealed more details on its plans to develop smartphone games with Nintendo.

As part of an earnings call held in Japan, the telecoms company has said it will roll out five titles by the close of financial year ending March 2017. Although no specific titles were announced, it is said that all of Nintendo's major IPs will be considered for development as smartphone titles. That means players could see the likes of Mario, Link, and Kirby hitting their phones -- a big move for the famously protective Nintendo.
